I’ve only been to the house twice this week. On Monday it was raised and by the end of the week the new steel posts were cemented in place.
I went to the house yesterday to have a look around. It’s a bit of a mess out the back but the excavators have unearthed some hidden treasures junk.
The green lemonade bottle still has the
Electricity has been off for a week and look at the state of the pool. The builders will be working upstairs this week and will need the power so we can prevent the pool turning into a green swamp.
Wow! The little blue truck is cool!!
I think so too! I will clean it up and add it to our little collection of treasures.
Wow you must be excited to see it finally raised. I love the bottles, especially the Tristrams, a real part of Brisbane’s history. I wonder about the little boy who owned the blue truck :-).
The bottles are yours if you want them!!! This afternoon we went back to the house. Our neighbours came over to see how things were going. We discussed the owner of the little blue truck. Where is he now?
Junk? Hold your tongue!!!!I would definitely consider the bottles and the truck treasures. I love finding treasures in the garden and wonder how they came to be there.
Ha Ha!!! We’ve been back to the house today and found some old coins. The earliest dating back to 1914. The house wasn’t built until the very late 30’s.
How exciting – I’d be framing those things or displaying them in shadow boxes or similar – great conversation pieces. Dig a little deeper – there might be a treasure chest 🙂
They are great finds, most definitely not junk. We didn’t find much at all with our reno unfortunately but there was not really any excavating going on either. mel x
