Woo hoo !!!!! Internet access at last!!!!

Hello again!

We’re all so happy here, we have access to the internet again. Middle son came home from school and was close to tears when he found out. What a relief, a massive step closer for us to get back to normal.

Things here at home have moved sooo incredibly slowly these past few months but we are finally getting closer to the end.

Last week I took a few photos when I was making dinner and  the school lunches .  I thought it would be good to have some photos to remember what It’s been like for us these last four months (we moved home a week before Christmas)

No more washing dishes in the red tub, carrying it full of water back and forth from the bathroom,
No more pouring the dirty water down the toilet!!!
No more ‘has anyone seen the toaster?’

The kitchen cabinets have been installed and Mr F has been very busy painting the mantle.  We chose to it paint ourselves rather than have it done in a 2pac finish like the rest of the cabinets and saved ourselves $1300!!

Today the benches were installed but I haven’t had the chance to take photos.  We chose ‘White Shimmer’ from  Caesarstone.

I really liked ‘Calacatta Nuvo’ but it was going to cost an extra $2000.  No way!!! 5131

The plumber is supposed to be coming tomorrow to install the taps, toilets etc….

  1. Good to hear you are back in the land of the world wide web! Kitchen looks fantastic, good to see another husband wielding a paintbrush too. I kind of lost my will to blog while painting the epic kitchen/lounge/dining but now it is done, will hopefully scrape some pics together soon. mel x

Wow, what a transformation. Looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see the final product. It’s a lot of work and toil but, when saving big $$$ it is well worth it. Hang in there…Joanne

  3. Hi, I love your blog and house – do you have house plans? Would love to see them of you do as we are planning our reno on our old QLDer and need inspiration!

    • Hi there. The plans should be on the main menu. It’s been so long since I’ve looked at the blog. I hope they’re still there. We originally used a building designer to draw up the plans and then used a firm called Easyway Builders to do all the hard stuff like permits, look for the builder etc.. I wish we’d found them before we paid the building designer to draw the plans. We would have saved a lot of money. As the owner of Easyway is also able to draw up plans for a fraction of the price.

    • Thanks so much!
I’m so happy to have been able to use the fabric that I’d had in storage for so long. I knew one day I’d find a use for it. Didn’t realise it would be twelve years before I did.
