The kitchen is nearly finished.

We are so close to having the kitchen finished.  Just a few small details to go

  • The coving around the mantle and VJ wall needs painting
  • Subway tiles in the pantry
  • A lick of paint here and there.

We were actually able to prepare and cook a meal using the oven on Thursday night last week.  It was so exciting, we’ve been without an oven since the end of October last year.

So fresh and clean! Love the hanging lamp globes. I bet you are all so happy to be back in your home.

  2. Ooh ooh ooh, love your kitchen style hamptons-meets-shaker-plus-ye-olde-fashioned-country-kitchen look! So in right now and very much in keeping with a queenslander home. It’ll be our choice of kitchen style too, so I’m keeping a close eye on this trend right now. I’m a little green-eyed monster today!

I’m loving the shaker style cabinetry and mantle for the rangehood. How did you achieve the cabinetry and where did you source your Rangehood? Looks fantastic. Many thanks 🙂

    • Hello Lucy!!!
Sorry for not replying sooner. I basically copied the design from a house featured in a copy of Home Beautiful magazine a few years ago. Not very original am I?
I have a scrap book that I’ve been adding stuff to that is nearly 20 years old now. Isent the image to the company who built the kitchen cabinets for us and asked them to try and build something similar. We were really happy with the end result. It was built out of MDF and my husband painted it once it was installed.
The extractor fan is made by Blanco. I hope this helps.

I keep referring to your kitchen because I love it so much! I am looking for a mantle made for my undercount Rangehood. Can I ask where you got your done? Is is MDF? Thanks again 🙂
