We’re all so happy here, we have access to the internet again. Middle son came home from school and was close to tears when he found out. What a relief, a massive step closer for us to get back to normal.
Things here at home have moved sooo incredibly slowly these past few months but we are finally getting closer to the end.
Last week I took a few photos when I was making dinner and the school lunches . I thought it would be good to have some photos to remember what It’s been like for us these last four months (we moved home a week before Christmas)
No more washing dishes in the red tub, carrying it full of water back and forth from the bathroom,
No more pouring the dirty water down the toilet!!!
No more ‘has anyone seen the toaster?’
The kitchen cabinets have been installed and Mr F has been very busy painting the mantle. We chose to it paint ourselves rather than have it done in a 2pac finish like the rest of the cabinets and saved ourselves $1300!!
Today the benches were installed but I haven’t had the chance to take photos. We chose ‘White Shimmer’ from Caesarstone.
I really liked ‘Calacatta Nuvo’ but it was going to cost an extra $2000. No way!!!
The plumber is supposed to be coming tomorrow to install the taps, toilets etc….
It’s been quite a while since I’ve had the chance to update this blog. Long hours at work and limited internet access hasn’t helped but now the lovely lady upstairs (the owner of the granny flat we’re renting) has given us access to her internet account. So hopefully now I will able to update it regularly.
The small window on the right has been removed and filled in with weather boards.
While the builders have been waiting for the permits to be approved they’ve been busy installing new windows and lining the old dunny. It’s starting to look more like a little study now
Before we put in the pool.
The old kitchen.
It’s storm season here in Queensland and yesterday we went to the house to have a swim. It was incredibly hot and muggy and we could hear the thunder in the distance. It arrived quite suddenly and brought with it heavy rain and hail. The boys abandoned the pool and took shelter under the house. The area under the house was a muddy mess.
The hail bouncing off the trampoline was fun to watch.
Then before we knew it, the storm had past and the sun and the steamy heat returned.
It’s now Monday of week five and hopefully (fingers crossed) the drains and footings are done this week.
