Tiles for the porch.

Serious bargain of the year!

Ok so while looking for an alternative to encaustic tiles Fred found some for sale on Gumtree for $20 a sqm!!!

Now I know that I said in my last post that we’d not been too happy with the encaustic tiles in the upstairs bathroom.  But anyone who knows how much encaustic tiles are per square metre knows that for $20 a sqm is a seriously good bargain.

Today we’re grouting.

Only in Queensland?

I saw this sign today…
and it made me wonder how many people have paused to rest in the shade of this mighty tree and been struck by a falling Mango.
Actually, it must be quite a few if the local council has had to erect a warning sign.
Am I wicked to see the funny side of this???old pearly jenkins

Bench seat revamp.

I’ve painted the legs of the bench seat with the paint that I didn’t use for the mirror.

I’m happy with the results.  Both will eventually live at the front door.  Now I need to find just the right hooks and maybe a couple of baskets for shoes.

The colour looks different in the photos.  In real life the cupboards are more of a green blue.  The picture above shows the colour better.

My next smaller project is to paint the legs of the bench seat.  My current project is stripping back the many layers of paint from the front porch.  Tedious and smelly work.
